Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

'A new decade,

...
The radio plays the sounds we make,
And everything seems to feel just right,
coming through your lonely mind...'

A new decade
The above note has been made regarding my accident, however this is also opening track to one of my favourite albums of all time - 'A Northern Soul' by The Verve (over a decade prior, 1995). Ten years since accident, however my recovery has been, and continues to be 'very stepped'. I do not know the exact dates of early-stages, myself, but I do know that I was in a low, minimally-conscious state until mid-April 2007.
A new decade. The past decade has been so difficult, it cannot be compared to anything. Now, a new decade.
I omit including the music video, as there are plenty already planned for this week's post!

Radiohead, my favourite band.  'Amnesiac', probably my second favourite album of the band.  For me, cover versions of tracks, are best when the new act use the old song, re-creating it to have 'their' sound. In the next video Metaphump perform their version of a Radiohead song from 'Amnesiac'. Super.

BBC playlist examples
Five videos of songs that were on my BBC Playlist, shared a couple of weeks ago.

Her new album, 'Citizen Of Glass' is out today, I have bought it, and listened to it only once, so far. It seems an amazing collection of songs, all complimenting each other. Evocative, but also calm and soothing. I liked her concert that I attended a couple of years ago, at Somerset House. A good follow up, methinks.

Very folky. Amazing voice. Released earlier this year, her album 'Theyesandeye' is a great addition to my 2016 playlist! I am embarrassed that I do not know too much, other than fallen in love, hearing her track 'All The Birds', on BBC 6music,earlier this week.

2.50 achieved perfectly on time! :)
Only last week, I was panicking. As I had stated earlier in the year, my performance on my gym-bike is to peak three times-a-year. Early April, Paris-Roubaix, succeeded. July, Tour de France, succeeded. Finally, October, World Championships. I had reached 2.48km two weeks ago, 2.49km last Wednesday. 2.49km on Friday. I was ten metre short, after ten minutes. I was so scared i wouldn't make 2.5 for the world championships (sunday) ! However Saturday came. Success! Relief. :)

Result.
A bit of ‘bikeporn’!…
Bianchis are always the most beautiful of all bikes (obviously biased). It's true.

Do you think we live in a fair democracy? Wake up!

I feel like I'm on Shimano XT having been on Deore!
Finally, my wheelchair broke down leaving me in the middle of Kingston. Fortunately, I phoned the correct people, and was rescued by members of KCIL. After a taxi home, and a visit from the good engineeer, my wheelchair was correctly assessed as having a few mechanical problems. It was taken away and 'seen to' by mechanics. Now I have it back! I don't drive, so I can only offer one comparison of 'how it feels.'! I always rode with 'Campagnolo Veloce' on road bikes, so my comparison is made from my mountain bike experience! Oh man, i am pathetic, you probably don't have a clue what language i am talking! Sorry!
