Welcome to my blog. I post on this, roughly once a week (it does vary). I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

TWENTY TWO BILLION

An email, that I received from 38degrees, earlier this week, contained one key paragraph...

Shell just announced that they made £22 BILLION in profits last year. Meanwhile, millions of us are having our gas and electricity cut off, as energy bill debt hits a record high of £3 billion.

Just reread that. Twenty two BILLION in profits, in a time where the government tells us that there is no money to solve its problems!

A windfall tax, may have a slight effect, but something has been allowed to go wrong for a number of years, surely? Maybe 14 years? Co-incidence!?? The prime-minister is hardly 'strapped-for-cash' either! Our system is torn, twisted and ruined by those who gain from it.

It is election year. We don’t know when yet, but relatively soon!

We all must do what we can to fix the problems that our country faces. Whilst this is true, we must be careful not to be fobbed off, by any replacement! I am an active Green Party member, and have been such since I joined in 2015. Recently, as the entire globe has felt damaging effects of harming our atmosphere, eco-friendly politics have risen to the fore. Whilst they may not be wanted, they are needed. It seriously alarms me how Labour have backtracked on a number of eco-friendly pledges, as they near the reality of having power. Green ethics are difficult. Too difficult for most to stand by. Unfortunately it is too easy for most to choose the regular route. WE NEED CHANGE. Yes this is a global problem, therefore we must lead by example. Britain has the chance to change, we must take the opportunity! Green pledges can be popular, vote-winning tactics. Only one party will stand by what they pledge.

Not a bad goal, for all of you football fans!…

Maro

Thank you Emma for introducing me to Maro (Portuguese singer/songwriter). Together with a series of mesmeric acoustic guitars, she provides a beautiful sound. Yet again, this ‘Tiny Desk’ performance, offers a superb snippet of sound. There are many further songs to be found on YouTube.

The Youtube clip that I was given, originally!

Wow...
