Two-faced PrimeMinister
There are those among us who still believe ‘Climate-Change’ isn’t real.

Never compare yourself with anyone. True comparisons will always be warped due to conditions, former experiences, and a possibly endless list of further reasons. We are all different, always have been and therefore always will be. Welcome this!
Comparisons can be best made with your previous self. There will still be a long list of variables that you must take into account. This is why I am so grateful for my history as a cyclist. An individual who has been able to test improvements and fitness performance of myself! I am super comfortable with testing myself against the clock. This used to be doing laps of the Richmond Park, or Midlands Countryside (whilst away at University). I used to love dropping fellow cyclists on climbs, but I knew full well that they would catch me on flat stretches or descents!
I find myself questioning myself, all of the time. I am not tied down to a 9-5 office job, with a social life of such a worker. I have no wife, children, or even a girlfriend. But such a partner would have to live with my restraints.
I am living MY life. I’m different to everyone else (but then, so is everyone). I am incredibly fortunate to be living at all, yes, but I’m also incredibly fortunate to be able to sense that I am on a positive path of improvement, forever. I may never be able to cycle up Alpe D’Huez again, but I have ticked-that-off already. Climbing that famous mountain required a similar mentality of self-belief, which grew at every hairpin - ‘you can progress, you just gotta keep at it. Look back down, see how far you’ve come already, Keep going’!
Just as Sisyphus was sentenced to forever climb and push a huge rock up a mountain, I can sense a similarity to myself. Just as ‘one must consider Sisyphus happy’, I must do the same.
Dreams can be dreams, we can all dream. Aims, however, must be realistically attainable. This may forever be my problem, learning what I can aim for, and what I can only dream for!
One of my main coffee suppliers is ‘PactCoffee’.
You create an account, and you can fine tune your coffee selection. You can vary how often you buy (I usually buy 250g of beans, every 60 days, from Pact)
Well written Pat!! Love your take on comparisons. You've found a new fan. 😊
