Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Things.

Things.

The world

Humanity

Scientific knowledge

Things are all evolving together at mind-blowing speed. Ok, I’m getting old, but then so is everyone! Surely recent global issues have made the world smaller?

‘Sorry guys, I’m late for my other meeting’

As I am sat in the coffee shop, I had already recognised the fact that I was the only one inside, reading a book. All seven others were sat on laptops/notebooks. The gentleman was giving the stated quote to his meeting-via Zoom/Skype! I struggled to believe that he truly had an excuse for ‘being late’, he was going nowhere, he cannot have blamed ‘bad traffic’, or ‘poor transport’. Yet I realise that he could have been in a transglobal business meeting! Accessibility to transport is now rarely a final, deciding issue. Access to WI-FI negates so many problems! The world has shrunk, and our general accessibility has boomed!

The entire globe felt hurt from the pandemic. Nations were forced to act responsibly towards each other, offering aid where needed. Surely, gone are the times when nations fight each other (Sometimes I view Putin, Boris, Trump and Farage as nothing but a sad, old, pathetic men, living in the past)! Unfortunately, the power they wield cannot be described as ‘pathetic’.

Anyway, as humanity has evolved and progressed, we must recognise many global benefits, with gratitude.

Midway through the last century polymers were experimented with and plastic was developed as a new ‘super-material’, at the forefront of technical advancement. There are many, many positive benefits, but we have long known of the problems involved, so ‘plastic recycling’ was seen by many as a saviour!

However, we must be careful!...

Fear of the Dawn - Jack White
(April '22)

As ever, music…

I apologize as I missed the news of a new album, released in April. Therefore I could not praise it here. Jack White released the ‘Fear of the Dawn’ clearly stating the mission with opening track ’Taking me back’. Belter!!

The album continues with such rock tunes based around guitar riffs. Personally, I would cite a similarity to some very early, raw White Stripes tunes, such as ‘Jumble, jumble,’ and ‘Lafayette Blues’!

Entering Heaven Alive - Jack White
(July '22)

Second album will be released very soon.

‘Entering Heaven Alive’ is due out July 22nd, promising more quality throughout. It is completed by a calmer version of ’Taking Me Back’, clearly emphasising that the two albums should be considered together, a collection of tunes opened and closed by two alternate versions of ‘Taking Me Back’.

Living legend.
