Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Why Kid A?

The gig ticket, kept within the album sleeve

The shop receipt from the day-of-release! I had sprinted to Woolworths in Twickenham, whilst on my lunch break at Richmond College.

The album is an experience itself. Listen to the opening keyboard intro of 'Everything in it's Right Place', through to 'Motion Picture Soundtrack', as a single experience. It is SO SPECIAL! You are taken on a journey through calm of 'How to disappear', and 'Treefingers', to beats of 'Idioteque', and the enchanting vocals of 'Optimistic'. When you finish, you can reflect and realise just how UNIQUE, and incredibly special the previous 49minutes57seconds has been.

The above paragraph is what I typed on a 'Radiohead Fan Page', on Facebook. When asked to select the best track, that was my response!

I had just turned 16 a few months prior to release, had seen them at their Victoria Park, London gig earlier that year, and was an avid fan. I was left bemused to find out that no singles would be released.

‘Kid A’ is not a collection of hit singles, it is the most ‘complete’ album on it’s own.

Following album release,  ‘AMNESIAC’, eased my desire for owning an increased number of Radiohead singles!

Radiohead headlining Glastonbury 2003 was a supreme peak, as an 18 year old fan.

I ended up typing today's post accompanied by my Albert Camus book, Double espresso, water and lunch in one of my favourite coffee shops in London. The Fleet Street Press Office.
