Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Over 15 years!

Weekends are toughest, psychologically for me. This is why I usually sleep a lot, and enjoy following Football, when awake! In the real world, everyone remains too busy in the week, uniting with their loved ones at the weekend. Everyone exists as one of ‘a couple’, it often seems. It can feel like some weak individuals, have a need to parade with pride, ’their success’. Whilst I can recognise that everything balances, stark reminders of deep-chasms in me, can hurt. OK, I may seem hyper over-sensitive here, sorry. Move on.

I type because we are close to reaching October’s end, and I realise that I have not posted all month!!

Sorry

We have passed the 15th anniversary of my accident (October 14th, 2006)!

Gulp...

This is so insane! I was 22. These figures hurt me immensely, but I force myself to recognise the possible opposite extremes, finally reaching a place of balance, between both. As long as this balance point can be viewed as a positive, I will focus!

Everything can be viewed, in some respect, as a positive! Relax.

I’m currently halfway through ‘The Birth of Tragedy’ by Friedrich Nietzsche. Deeeep!

It is a tough read, much of it reviews Ancient Greek Theatre (which is totally lost on me), but much of his background philosophy, I am in full agreement with!

I realise that I have slowed down my production of blog posts. I don’t know if should apologise or not. The world has suffered on a large scale, in the recent couple of years. You should all know my political feelings, they remain, and my despair of current rule is as strong as ever.

Personally, currently I feel fully focussed on my physical recovery (which is taking far too long, and may never end). Whilst I have the right to feel sad, depressed and angry, that I have lost a life that I had worked so hard to reach (2006 was near perfect for me, until October 14th). Truthfully, I have never wanted to feel such depression, sadness and anger. I suffered numerous broken bones in 2019, preceding a number of Coronavirus lockdowns, cancelled Physiotherapy sessions, but I know that there are always ups and downs. I have no choice though, I must continue. Quitting is not an option. Cyclists don’t quit.

Sorry, I Ramble on

Quality, intense album

I must pay both Sian Berry and Jonathan Bartley insane levels of gratitude for leading the Green Party of England & Wales so successfully over recent years. We now welcome two more forward thinking, progressive leaders, onto a stage which can relate to a harsh battlefield. Both Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay were introduced as our new leaders, at the recent ‘2021 Autumn Conference’

(my screenshot from the conference offers a positive sense of hope).
