Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

We need CHANGE

I type this post, alone, without any preparatory notes, just my personal feelings. You probably know much of my character already, through this blog. I do not represent any group, party, or whoever. This is my personal view. It is MY blog!

Events at Clapham Common over this past weekend, and the tragic event leading up to them help to signify what has been felt throughout the whole nation recently.

WE NEED CHANGE

People are disappointed at the basic inability of the government, which has been highlighted throughout this Global Pandemic, reinforced by the recent failings of local/home security officers. We do not feel safe. We, citizens of the UK, do not have enough confidence in our leaders.

This ‘Global Pandemic’ must be used as an opportunity for CHANGE. The UK has sat back, under the power of just two opposing political beliefs, for centuries!

Yes, the world has kept spinning, but things have evolved, developed, and times CHANGE.

Yes, ok, Brexit won the referendum. It is however, the most ‘backward-thinking’, regressive political belief suffered by the UK, for a long time.

Truthfully, people must step back, zoom out and observe what such disasters happen all around our Globe. Britain is lucky.

Is it not our duty to help others, that are not so lucky?

Ok, we must start at home. Basic failings of the police (our social security), are worrying. Zoom out, step back. Shocking failings by this government have become the norm, we should not be surprised. We voted for this. We should be ashamed.

This country is so much more than just two parties.

We must allow ourselves a better chance for a positive and progressive society, instead of remaining stuck in this net, sliding back and forth, getting nowhere. Just as past generations have performed wonders for us, we owe it to future generations to maintain and progress.

We will continue to fail if we keep things the same.

If we want to progress successfully…

Not left, not right…

WE MUST STEP FORWARD!

London Mayoral elections reach us in May of this year (delayed from last year). It is a much fairer electoral process meaning you can get who you vote for (unlike the national elections for parliamentary government)!

Break free of the chains, and vote for what you believe in!
