Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

 ‘Check Local Recycling’

… the term that can regularly be found on a product, or a piece of packaging.

This may be very true. Different locations provide different possibilities for recycling our waste.

So, how do we found out the best way of disposing waste?

Use the 'recycling locator' on the recycle now website (linked above)

What has always been incredibly alarming is that some products are made of a combination of recyclable materials, but combined together in such a way, that they cannot be recycled effectively. Products which have not been designed with disassembly accounted for should be made illegal!

After hearing this song on 6music, through the ‘BBC Sounds’ App, I rapidly took note to investigate it further. Four years old, but Wow!

It touches the soul.

Beautiful.

Mind blowing.

Holiday trips!

Venice and Florence

https://www.virtualtrips.io/

Two of the most beautiful cities in the world, were chosen as places I would like to visit again.

I took some photos to prove where I was!

As the guide led us through an empty St Mark’s Square, in Venice, the surreality of it all began to hit. This magical piazza is usually packed with tourists, but the Coronavirus pandemic has hit the whole world hard. After Venezia proved successful, Florence was my following venue. After crossing the Arno, we headed to the centre, before entering the famous Ponte Vecchio from the Uffizi.

Il Ponte Vecchio

A few weekends ago, I had my eyes opened, as I watched the Cycle-cross World Championships, on BBC. As a roadie converted from the world of mountain-bikes, personally I feel like I skipped this stage. The race was dominated by a Dutchman and a Belgian  (Wout Van Der Poel and Wout Van Aert). Now I know 'Cross-bikes' are very similar to Road-Racing bikes. No matter how they are varied, this race was insane! It traversed road/tarmac, gravel, rocks, steps (all fairly standard for CX). I was left shocked by the course leading onto a sandy beach!! Truly a different kind of a bike-race, led by young legends of Tour de France road racing!

Wow

So, I finally switched my power supplier, to the most ‘ethical’, that I could easily find.

CHANGE YOUR SUPPLIER

People must not ignore this.

So many of ’the larger companies’, are fighting seemingly between themselves, trying the hardest to offer ’the best deal’, whilst making the biggest profit. It is now so easy to switch. Companies advertise the ability to find the best deal FOR YOU. With there being such competition, the race is tight.

The clear winner, for me, is OVO Energy

An ethically positive company, always wins

I spent Valentine’s Day with someone so special to me. Love. Alone.

No-one else can attempt to understand me to such an extent. Parents aside, no-one else tries!

Everyone must be proud of themselves. To recognise positives, we must be aware of the negatives. We may have had experienced them closely. Always maintain self-belief. Everyone’s history can be reviewed, and the closer we look, we see our sheer level of effort and success we all have made and gained. Ok, successes may not have been to the desired level, but somewhere, somehow, somebody will use this ‘failed attempt’, as a benefit. Human life will always progress. There is a benefit in everything, everyone does.

A democracy?...

So, the London Elections are fast approaching us. In only a few months we will be able to vote, and elect the Mayor of London, and participants who represent us in City Hall.

However, there is a problem. Conservatives have decided that volunteers are banned from delivering leaflets!

The largest parties have the wealth to help maintain ‘the status quo’, paying for expensive quantities of promotional mail-outs. Smaller parties cannot afford this. It is basically a cruel, unfair and evil method that the government are using to maintain their position of power. (1st or 2nd).

I AM PLEADING WITH YOU ALL!

We cannot allow this crude tactic to succeed.

In a time in which the entire world is hurting, WE NEED CHANGE.
