Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Too lazy

Design for disassembly

We must face facts. Humans always want the quickest, easiest option.

But, we must realise that if we continue live like so, we will forever be on a negative, downwards spiral. We are too lazy for our own good!

We must now choose our purchases/consumptions on two factors:..

A) Does the purchase provide a good solution to the task that we face?...

AND

B) What happens to our purchase after, when we no longer have use of it? Can it be taken apart, for any re-use, or will litter the planet forevermore?

If our purchase solves only one of the above, it CANNOT OCCUR.

Everything MUST BE DESIGNED TO SOLVE BOTH ISSUES.

The answers will exist. It is up to the general public who can choose the success of products. As products’ popularity increase, fashion develops, and their impact on our one planet, grows.

Designers will always generate various solutions to problems (or ‘designs’).

Everyone will always consume.

Everyone will always have a choice (to some extent).

Always recognise that everything has a cause/effect relationship, on everyone, everything, and everywhere. Currently, humans can only realise effects of a certain level, but in the future - who knows? Your decisions and choices do have effects. We all have an impact on our planet.

Choose carefully, and correctly!

Please think about what you buy.

‘Meal Deal’. Album was released a couple of months ago, but I bought today. Fairly new to me, but I want to share, as I think there is plenty of potential here…

A comparison, to an artist with a similar sound (IMO) is 'Nadine Shah'.

American politicians can voice their opinions now...

10th birthday soon

This blog’s first post was published as a an opening two-piece, on Monday 20th December 2010 (http://patrickgoodacre.blogspot.com/2010/12/v1-dec-2010.html)

Ten years ago! It broke 170,000 page-view count, earlier this week.

Gulp.

;) The benefit of 'Lockdown isolation'!
