Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Support your Independent Shops!

When the town re-opens, support your independent shops!

I rush this post, as I am aware that Britain intends to end our second period of ‘lockdown’, on Wednesday. I am sure that this news reaches people with glee and happiness! Yet again, we have not been properly ‘locked-down’, but some shops have been shut, and people have been forced to work from home.

I panic, as I realise what the whole of society should be aware of!

Small, local businesses have been struggling to survive this past month. Many have been closed temporarily. Whilst unable to offer services, sooooooo much money is lost by these small businesses. Public spending has halted.

When lockdown is lifted, PLEASE think about who your spending is supporting.

This graphic is intended to show how everyone has been affected by the global pandemic, the ‘big boys’ will survive easily. If we let the small companies die out, then variation will decrease as larger companies start to monopolise industries.

No-one truly wins from a monopoly.

Beware

Whatever industry or service, please do not opt for the ‘quick and easy’ option. Support your local independent! They need you.

You’ll need them!

Keep variation.
