Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

So real, surreal

It is so real, it’s surreal

Important that everyone follows the ‘advice’, and stays at home.
If outside, maintain social distances with everyone.
but, when over...

I am using this fact, to supply a lot of music through this post.

It is surreal, that it is so real. Ok, I feel restricted to my own flat, my neighbours too. My family, are each restricted.  My friends are too. Cafes and bars are closed. Shops are almost entirely shut. This is Big. I look at my friends elsewhere in the entire world. EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE. Everything is closed. I struggle to comprehend, because there doesn’t seem to be a country anywhere, with the answer. Everything has a cause/reason, right?
So real

Last night, I deliberately had my dinner early, as i had planned to participate. So, all was running on time, and outside i ventured. I had no real expectation, but I still wanted to participate because i felt that i may forever be in debt to them since 2006. I have my life, because of the NHS. We all do, and the number of people that appeared in the street at 7.59pm, was utterly mind-blowing. Surreal. I was soooo glad that enough people voiced, and appeared. Advertisement of this event had obviously worked and enough people correctly felt gratitude towards staff throughout the NHS. The whole world recognises a problem that we all face. It is a surreal leveller!

Humans, if they combine and work together, can solve anything.
Keep the faith…
I know we can make it go.

5 is now 6
…because of my Bialetti Moka devices.
;)
I hold my hands up, and admit my weakness.
Coffee.
Good coffee!

Most of my Bialetti ‘Moka’ devices are intended to create two or three shots of espresso. I never try to force anything else from the process (one MUST NOT)!
I live alone. Therefore I regularly drink double-shots of Espresso.
Tasty. Very tasty.
I am left recognising the addictive, drug affect of the caffeine!
I am always carefully counting my daily intake, and have found a positive (for me) from this Coronavirus Quarantine. I am in my flat. I drink espresso. I only have one Bialetti Moka designed for a single cup. The seal is wearing loose (because i use it so much). The shops are shut. If it dies, I will HAVE NO CHOICE, but to use my other larger, Bialetti entirely. I will have to make stronger espresso.
THE END.

!!!!
Epilogue: Now I have no choice. Just as I had finished typing the above paragraph, I go to make a coffee. Wait, I am missing the essential ‘Bialetti Gasket’ that holds the ground coffee. Lost somewhere, somehow!
Stronger coffee, until I can get to the shops.

Discovered and shared here, June last year (http://patrickgoodacre.blogspot.com/2019/06/im-baaaaaaaack.html), Black Midi are a still relatively new, young band. This week, they released a collection of live recordings, from their US tour. Mind blowing.
;)
Black Midi - Live in USA

The word ‘quarantine’ was originally born in reference to Italian ships awaiting harbour in Venice, in c.1660s. Ships were restricted to do such for 40 days (quaranta giorni), as it was believed to be carrying bad, evil illness, amongst wounded soldiers who had been fighting in battles to the east of Italy.

LiveCOCO food wrap, a superb solution. An alternative to the harmful material that is cling-film. Cling film is a non-recyclable, non-biodegradable material, but has an essence that is much required for many uses in our world. LiveCOCO have found an alternative, a food wrap that is eco-friendly!

LiveCOCO

This version of this song is magical. It wrips me into pieces, like nothing else.
Thank you Jeff. RIP.
