Welcome to my blog. I post on this, roughly once a week (it does vary). I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

the answer!!!

This post starts with a bad, low note, but climbs to finish on a positive, high (using a wonder-drug)…
I’ve NEVER been a professional cyclist!

I am actually unsure as to whether I should be spreading this news. It has alarmed me so much. I realise that to a certain extent, my mind was closed...

This is kinda BIG news...
‘the significant downside to using the gas is that it has the highest global warming potential of any known substance. It is 23,500 times more warming than carbon dioxide (CO2).’
SF6
I found the above article, earlier in the week, through the BBC Homepage. I expected the follow-up response everywhere, to be overwhelming. However, I heard nothing. Should it be ‘silenced’?

Romelu Lukaku, new striker for Inter Milan

I enjoy following Italian football. However the tragic problem of racism has been so heavily entrenched within certain fan-bases, perhaps reflecting socio-geographic areas which are refusing to live in the modern world. The problem cannot be within football alone. It is a cultural problem, and football is a victim. For as long as the country attempts to ‘sweep problems under the carpet’, they will always exist.

‘Do ya wanna race? Hahaha ‘
The other day I travelled back home from Kingston, along the riverside. Halfway along the Queens Promenade I found myself approaching loud trance music, screaming from a box owned by a man wearing a full-dayglo outfit. It wasn’t particularly sunny, but to complete his look, he was wearing gold, tinted sunglasses! Waving his arms about, he was off-his-face! I looked out, towards the river as I passed, but then he tried to joke - ‘Do ya wanna race?’ (He pointed to his bike, next to him, and laughed).
I declined, but knowing the workload that I put through the pedals of my gym bike, I was left thinking to myself ‘Laugh at my wheelchair need, but I would quite comfortably wrip your legs off’!
;)

Drove over my toe!
Wednesday, I left my flat, passed the bus stop, looked behind and ahead of me, there was no traffic approaching the narrow, one-way ‘Electric Parade’. I continued on
WOAH!!
I avoid collision...
‘OW!!!!’
He had continued on, over my toe!
The Neanderthal-looking brute had continued off-and-away. He had been illegally driving the wrong way down a one-way road, and didn’t want to let a wheelchair slow his escape.
I was counting my lucky stars that he had not seriously injured me.

some signs are too easy to misread, for neanderthals

Skype
I was unable to physically attend the monthly meeting. I had provided design concepts that I wanted some feedback on. We are small but we are growing. My attendance was important. I have used Skype plenty of times before, but never for such a large group meeting. Incredibly successful. No-one in their right-mind follows parliamentary politics right-now (abolished parliament or not). But the Green Party is so much more. Hundreds of smaller, local Green Parties are fighting for correct causes, throughout the UK. Thank you.

I realise that my shopping is generally that of a green, ethical customer...
... apart from a shelf full of plastic bottles, holding shampoos and shower gels of the large multinational companies.
... so I finally made a change. A bar of ‘Ethique shampoo’, was bought, stored in a cardboard wrap. I am told that the bar of soap will last for three times as long as a regular 350ml bottle.

My bar of shampoo now sits on an espresso-cup plate (i have enough)!

People. The way forward...
#giveupthebottle

Are you ok there?
Just because you’re in a wheelchair and not moving down a pavement, people assume that you’re in trouble!!!
Whenever, i stop, I am used to receiving such attention.
:(

I have tried to cut down. I can survive on less of a ‘lunch’, but Coffee levels MUST BE MAINTAINED.

I drink a double, and a smile is put back on my face! If, forever, there is any lack of a smile being worn, then I know what is needed! A good coffee is the answer to everything!
