Welcome to my blog. I post on this, roughly once a week (it does vary). I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Hello again!

I’m still here! Physiotherapy is improving me but I’m on a never-ending road.

My therapist took a video recently, of me walking beside a hand-rail/bar. Whilst I am able to sense my level of physical disability, I was horrified to watch and listen to my voice. I understand that many people may feel similarly after watching a video of themselves, but I used to be a confident speaker (since ABI). Now I know that my self-confidence should be much tempered.

I look back at recent posts. It is over 6 months since I talked to you!

I am sorry (if needed)!

I am typing because I am at home waiting for a wheelchair engineer. I have no ‘timed appointment’, because they cannot commit themselves to a fixed schedule. The wheelchair’s power battery is essential and I do try to pay tremendous care. I recognise that most users follow the advice of charging it every night. I shudder at this concept (do people not realise that batteries can become dangerous if over-charged)? Naturally, I want to be as ‘small-a-drain on energy/electricity’ as possible (ecologically)… Added, has anyone heard of a ‘cost-of-living crisis’?

Anyway, it is an excuse for me to have the GREATEST COFFEE IN THE WORLD (made by me)!

My favourite coffee bean, was discovered being served at the ‘Espresso Room’ on Covent Garden’s New Row (http://independentcoffeeshops.blogspot.com/p/new-row-espresso-room.html)

Grown in Colombia, I was pleasantly surprised at the immense, fruity flavour of The Roasting Party’s ‘Esperanza Sweet Valley’

Unfortunately I could only buy this for a couple of months, it seems to be no more (desperation caused me to phone the distributors directly)!

As with Global-Climate changes, availability of various essentials will diminish, this includes COFFEE! :(

Music. My last promotion last year, was for ‘WEYES BLOOD’. I stand by this.

My new selection is ANGEL OLSEN - Nothing’s Free https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5srg8uNwUm0

Whilst this is her new single, the album ‘Forever means’ is due out on April 14th

Engineer arrived. Job done!

I'm off out!!...
