Welcome to my blog. I post on this, roughly once a week (it does vary). I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Self harm

I attended a hospital appointment last Thursday morning. I was prepared for bad news (I could’ve quite easily been instructed to wear my leg/ankle cast, for longer than initially forecast). But no! Off it came. My lower-leg is still swollen from the break/surgery/cast combination, but now I know that things are progressing well. I attended the NeuroGym again on Monday, in which I successfully turned the pedals of the MotoMed gym bike. Only a couple of easy 5min sessions, in the gym, guided me to attempt a stronger, 10 minute session, at home, on Tuesday. As I was turning the pedals, I was wearing THE BIGGEST smile!

General Election result
After the joy of having my leg/ankle cast removed on the Thursday morning, I knew I still had a very important mission. I needed to go and vote in the General Election. I was wary that ‘things balance’. I had already had my good news from the hospital, so... It was only as I awoke, restless in the middle-of-the-night/Friday morning, that I was able to check on results so-far. Ohhh man!!
WHAT HAVE WE DONE TO OURSELVES?!!!
...Self harm.
Britain is letting these bumbling fools rule over us, with regressive/backward politics, for another 5 years!
We had a chance, but we threw it away, so carelessly!

Locally, I am more satisfied. I had met Sarah Olney at a hustings, a couple-of-weeks ago. I know that my friends in the Richmond Green Party had decided to stand aside, in support of the LibDem, Olney (who was a main rival of Conservative, Zac Goldsmith).
Thankfully, Olney won!
At home, the Kingston Green Party received our best vote yet. We had all worked hard, so feel that such a result (if not, better), was deserved. In relation to the previous 2017 results, only the LibDems bettered us (in terms of improvement). Still some distance behind, but an improvement as a progressive party, is encouraging! To be able to step-back and watch ‘the big two’ falter, is interesting.

Lizzie Deignan sports the new team kit.

Now, ‘my sport’ (well, sort of). One of my favourite teams is sponsored by a top bike brand and an Italian coffee company,  Trek-Segafredo.
The team have decided to lead progression in terms of the ‘sustainability of the team kit’...
A brave design, in terms the aesthetics. It will definitely stand-out!
A few weeks ago, my provision of a photo of my shelf containing a lot of empty Bialetti boxes, confused many.

Above, many (not all) of my Bialetti coffee machines line up on my work surface. I try and have a different type of coffee, each evening of the week!
(A lover, ‘obsessed’ maybe?)

Lack of internet!
OK, a serious problem, affecting many, many people across this local area, of SouthWest London...
Our lack of internet is alarming, recognising how reliant we all have become. I am typing this post without a connection. I really do not know when I will upload it for you!

The reason that I type today, is that it is the blog’s 9th birthday! Gulp!!
Well done, you have been an audience to various ramblings for almost a decade. I will continue it up to it’s tenth birthday, but then, I really don’t know.

Above is a link to last year’s post, through which I found the following data...
