Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

the four best...

I write this post in one of the many, many cafes that I rate so highly. 'Hussar's Espresso House, in Hampton Wick, is a wonderful, proud, independent cafe, deserving of so much praise.

I remain fairly amused by my own show of 'independence', whilst at work, everyone else brought to a standstill, by a power cut, and therefore a lack of computers and Wi-Fi. Perhaps this symbolises the modern-age. However, by using my iPad, linking it to my 4G phone, allowed me to do much of the work that I had planned. In-turn this scares me, proving that I have no excuses! I remained quiet!
Work crippled by power cut!

Waitrose response!
I was pleased to find a response from Waitrose, to my email sent last week (email copied into last week's post). A long email, proving that they had given me the respect of a true answer.

Within the extensive response...
"The reason the supplier does not use 100% recycled plastic is because we believe the performance and visual aspects are both enhanced."

An honest and true response that why this choice of material has been made.
No arguments.

I look in the mirror, I feel down. Eight and half years since my accident. Hmmm. I gain weight now, like never before. I blame the obvious fact that I am sitting down in a wheelchair!
Hmmm, however I know that I am picking an 'easy excuse'. My true belief was confirmed, listening to the radio this morning. It was confirmed that obesity has relatively little to do with physical action and exercise, but is predominantly reliant on what we consume in our diet.
I am in luck (i twist everything to my favour), as it seems that my new limitation of milky-coffees, is definitely  worth it. Cappuccinos and Lattes may be aesthetically pleasing and offer nice photo opportunities, but there is nothing better than a good black coffee!
I love BLACK coffee

extracts that make me smile...

I want to finish by celebrating the fact that the UEFA Champion's League has the four best performing teams in Europe, in it's Semi-Finals. There is no British team amongst, because no Brittish team can compete at high enough level. Yes, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal are very good, but cannot condense the quality of their season-long strength, to compete with the sheer quality of a 90 minute performance by Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Good, rich, but people must realise that we are not at the level.
