Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Everything is terrible

Ramps

I am sat on the train back from Waterloo. I realise that I am stunned at how much apprehension I would live with in my Rehabilitation Home. Understandably, everything needed to be planned. Everything always does, but now as an  ‘experienced full-time’ wheelchair user, I know a lot more. I am extremely grateful to all TFL staff who always provide invaluable assistance. The only assistance that I regularly require is providing ramps, allowing me to board/leave a train (or a bus). The extreme stress that I used to be under, having to plan times for everything, and everyone (assistants as well), is reviewed by myself, and I laugh! My confidence/ability to ‘turn up and go’ is vitally important (now I can live life, and solve problems only when i face them)!

You all know my political views. I am Green and I shall remain a ‘Green’ forever more. This country is in trouble. Britain has suffered under a Tory government for various periods throughout history. It could be said that ‘the opposition’ have not offered enough viable resistance. Until now!

I want to applaud Sir Keir Starmer for promoting such a green energy policy. This is the man who the whole nation needs as Prime Minister ASAP!

I guess that I was brought-up-well.

I always say ‘thank you’ to the bus driver, as I leave the bus. 50/50. Some people do the same, some don’t. Those who stand out, are those who don’t. They may carry themselves  with such an arrogant self-righteousness, they could be viewed by everyone else, with such negativity!

One medication

I can state with joy, that I have successfully decreased the level of medication that I am on. It has taken a 5-week strict schedule to reduce, and I have suffered shots of spasticity in my left leg, during this period. However, after living on the medication for so long, it was always going to prove difficult. It turns out that it has been quicker/easier than I expected.

Rise of Far-Right in Italy

Nationalism…

Thank you Brexit!!

Ahem! :(

So, a far-right political party has been allowed to develop and grow far too much, in Europe.

Italy is not the first country to suffer this, very recently. Similar parties have enjoyed success in Sweden, Hungary, France and other countries. Such harmful, insular, nationalistic politics could have been ignited back in 2016, BREXIT. Europe must not blow-up. It must stay united as Russia acts as aggressively, under Putin.
