Welcome to my blog. It varies how regular I write posts here. I sustained a 'Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury', and a six month coma from a 'road traffic accident' whilst cycling, in October 2006. I spent the following 4 years (22-26yrs old), in a combination of hospitals and rehabilitation homes. Now, I have been living independently in Surbiton, England since October 2010. This blog begun life in December 2010, as i realised that there are many people worldwide that i want to share experiences with. I know that, as a wheelchair user, I am obviously not as mobile as i wish, so, use the internet to connect to you. I enjoy letting my thoughts represent through type. I type honestly. As numerous readers, as well as email recipients, will understand, I find typing to be very therapeutic. Thank you :)

Accept no imitations

If not now, when?

Caroline Lucas begins to explain the problem faced by all.

I was at the Green Party Manifesto Launch, in Barnes, this past Tuesday.
Such wisdom, combined with pure heartfelt belief, was offered and shared by all those involved. Inspirational.
Thank you Greens, as a national population, everyone does have an option to make a new, positive, progressive choice.
Many political parties are attempting to claim green credentials (whilst committing ecological crimes in other ways). Accept no imitations!

Sian Berry and Amelia Womack were amongst the incredible speakers.

Amelia Womack's full speech can be found here.

Wow! BBC coverage!...

Rapid 'add-on'

A very rapid ‘add-on’, as this is the second blog post in two days! I recognise that many of you will be searching for Christmas presents in the weeks ahead. Ethical consumption is A NECESSITY!

Please remember that there are opposite essences to absolutely everything. The more we take, take, TAKE, the less we have. Our presents may form a larger pile, but the greater capacity or potential of our home, decreases. Planet Earth is our home. Respect it.

We must respect our home. Only a fool would jump.

We cannot allow this...

So, I am developing a list...
2006: Traumatic Acquired Brain Injury
2019: Left Hip dislocation, Femur break
2019: Left Ankle break

As is often the case, I began the week setting a PB on the Motomed bike in the gym. I had a hard sprint for only ten minutes, but successfully!
A damn tasty lunch in Guiliano’s Delicafe in Kingston, followed. Then a regular trip to Sainsbury’s completing my weekly supermarket trip.
A fairly regular Monday was completed uniquely. Half-past eleven, I brushed my teeth. I positioned my wheelchair alongside my bed, plugged in to charge overnight. I was transferring to bed. I stood, and held the support. As I swung my right foot forwards, my left foot crumpled and I collapsed onto the floor.
OW! Pain!
Have I broken something, I never knew about my broken hip back in April!?...
I know that I have a high pain threshold, so it is difficult for me to assess myself objectively.
This hurts though...
But, no, I am ok. I tried a number of different attempts to scramble back to bed, but my left ankle was allowing nothing. I could easily reach my phone, all was ok but sad that I had the need to phone my parents, to get to bed!

It was then Tuesday, only following an X-ray assessment, could I know for sure that I had broken my ankle. I am told that the top of my shin bone was damaged as well, so I am left counting lucky stars that impact reverberations did not affect my knee as well!

Wednesday, it is decided that the best route is not surgery, but just a leg cast. Another leg cast!...
Twice since 2006, so a third time is no real unknown for me! Two months... Next year!

OK, back to some regular talk...
The visual communication of an endless variety of materials, processes, and instructions, may seem tricky to comprehend. I offer a couple of key sentences that I hold strong, using as instructions for myself, when facing the logos. I am really not sure how true I am!

It could be noted that generally, a triangle logo offers an instruction to recycle in it’s future life. Letters/numbers below refer to the material it is, therefore a guide as to how it should be handled in the future.

Generally, it should be noted that a circular symbol suggests that the material has been recycled in the past. It may be recyclable in the future!

As an active member of the Green Party, I feel it my duty to explain issues which the whole nation faces, in upcoming weeks.
Everyone, as part of the electorate, must realise how dangerous this election is. Most people, like it or not, may seem to not be interested, and this is how ‘they’ get elected as government. If the same thing happens again, we are pinning ourselves down, under the same rule for another 5 years.

Personally, I am torn. Torn between voting with my heart or voting with my head. As a keen member Kingston Green Party, I will be voting such. However, I also realise Britain's need for change. I understand those who choose to vote tactically, I know that WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE. I am a member of the Green Party, and I know that we are the only progressive party, working on all the vital causes facing EVERYONE.

Happy, how?

How to be happy?

Be content. Be satisfied, content, proud and happy with all of the smallest things in your life, that regularly, you may ignore. Everything happens by chance. Yes, you may plan things, but essentially, chance or ‘fate’ or ‘luck’, decides everything.
Nothing is ever 100% identical. Things may be similar, or very similar but NOTHING is identical. No occurrence is identical. Everything varies in space and time.
Your life is unique. Only you can have your experience.
Be proud of what you share. Only you can! No-one else will ever live your life!
You are special.

the way forward...
