Thank you Findlay and Banquet Records

 Believe in yourself

My words to myself...

'You are just as valuable as anyone.

No-one is above you.

You have an experience that is rare.

You are unique.

Everyone has lived different lives.

No-one knows.

Calmness.

Politeness.

A smile.

Confidence must remain hidden, but do not be shy/timid. Remain self-assured.'

...

The above personality traits were written, last night, just before I went to bed. I was happy,  I knew that this set of feelings must be identified and I want to share, how.

I realise that people may argue that ‘my situation’ aided me! Ok, I indeed stand out, an advantageous factor, sometimes. I had to arrive early anyway, so the ramp could be positioned.

So, I did.

I had time to chat with the band members before they started to warm-up.

It was to my surprise that I found out that the key, bass-guitarist Jules, was French. So I started speaking his language (or trying to)!

Then all of a sudden, lead, Natalie Findlay, turns up finishing her take-away sandwich that she’d just bought as her dinner! We started chatting.

Wow! I partly explained my joy at this ability of such normal talk, to the star-of-the-show!

I praised the album which I had already bought in the morning. I explained my long-term fandom...

I briefly summarised 'my story'.

Yes, I know ‘my story’, may seem totally boring, sad and quite depressing, to myself, but it can draw respect from anyone!

We definitely respect each other. Findlay’s new album was released the same day. Long, eclectic, alternative quality.

Dreamy, psychedelic indie.’ Brilliant.

In my opinion, this was a special, special show! Banquet Records is a superb record store that regularly hosts live music. I have been a fan of Findlay since much earlier releases, almost a decade ago.

Lesson. Always respect yourself primarily. Others will recognise, and pay you some in turn!

Be happy, smile, and always be prepared to pay other’s respect.
